Platform for Performance Art
PAE Aktionslabor e.V. is a platform for performance art that connects artists both regionally and internationally, organizing formats and events for performance art. A special focus is placed on experimental approaches that emphasize diversity and the collaboration of different actors.
The open nature of the platform allows for flexible formats, such as performative city walks and interventions that engage with questions related to urban space and nature. A central element of PAE is the sharing of communal meals, which serve as a performative and social gesture in various contexts.
How do we act, when there are no central actors or privileged perspectives, but only a network of interdependent existences? One possible answer lies in the Open Source group performance, with which PAE regularly appears, predominantly in public spaces. Additionally, PAE places another focus on intergenerational dialogue, understood as the transmission of knowledge beyond the verbal. This dialogue fosters collaboration between artists of different ages and experiences, creating spaces for collective learning where knowledge is shared not only through language but also through shared actions and experiences.
PAE has evolved from the PAErsche network established in 2010 and is in a continual process of making and integrating anti-racist, queer-feminist, and decolonial perspectives.
As an open lab, PAE facilitates encounters and dialogues to share and negotiate different approaches to performance art.
